Apple offers features "slide to unlock" to sue Motorola

IPhone manufacturer has won a major victory in patent fight against rival Motorola in Germany thanks to the ownership of patents related to the "slide to unlock" (slide to unlock on the touch screen).
Yesterday morning, a city court in Munich (Germany) have agreed to give Apple a long term ban for a number of Motorola mobile products. The court said that these devices infringe on patents owned features "slide to unlock" of Apple. Thankfully, through the tests, the Motorola Xoom tablet is not violating the patent by using the unlock feature circle of Android 3.0.
However, Apple's new victory could affect the patent dispute related to the Android device manufacturers worldwide.
On the other hand, the editor Florian Mueller of FOSS Patents page for information on court rulings in Germany will become Apple's own risk, meaning that Apple will face a large compensation payments to offset for Motorola in case the ban was rejected by a higher court.

Both Apple and Motorola have been involved in a legal battle for years persists. Until this time, no firm has won the decisive victory over challenger but that does not stop their hunt looking for "weakness" of each other. In fact, just last week, Apple filed a lawsuit against Motorola to the courts of California (U.S.) Motorola alleged violation of a signed agreement with Qualcomm to use a patent of this company.
Apple sued Motorola alleged infringement of patent-related features "slide to unlock" on the day that a judge discovered by German giant U.S. technology do not infringe patents 3G/UMTS technology that Motorola owns. Previously, Motorola said many of Apple's mobile products violate patent shall be prohibited and banned on the market.

Responding to a new lawsuit by Apple, Motorola said it is studying the application of a new design to unlock to this dispute does not affect the current supply or sales in the future.
Samsung also has used a similar strategy in Germany to prevent the ban on their products. Samsung is currently distributed and sold 10.1N Galaxy Tab, a modified version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 which has been found violating this patent. Although Apple announced a new tablet version of the Samsung is violating patents that they own but German courts do not agree with the view of Apple.
Apple is not a comment on the incident.
